Regency child's dress

  This dress is an outfit for two years old child from c. 1800 and was worn by girls and boys too. The outfit consists of a linen shift (a pattern made according to the woman´s shift, 1790-1810, Fitting and Proper) with embroidered initials, a cotton petticoat with shoulder straps and a cotton gown made according to the child´s gown, 1790 – 1800 (Fitting and Proper). The petticoat and the gown have grow tucks and adjustable drawstrings to be adaptable to a growing child. The outfit is completed with leather turn shoes. All is hand sewn.
