Regency bib front dress – bodiced petticoat
Petticoats are in this period completed with a bodice or straps,
which hold them in a typical high waistline. The bodiced
petticoat is made of cotton batiste according to the extant
bodiced petticoat dated to c. 1800 located in Museum Killerton
House, only front bodice parts however are not tied by ties as
the original but have been extended and are fastened by pins as
it was usual for the dress to provide better support to the
bust. |
