The wooden brise fan is on the obverse
trimmed with painted lines and floral motives and a glued
graphic with a classical motive. The fan was inspired by the
bone brise fan with classical scene - Anthony and Cleopatra,
1790 - 1795. The graphic in medallion was taken from the
unmounted fan-leaf, c. 1780 - 1820, the British Museum. |
