Dress of Marie de Medici
Light
violet silk corset is made according to the extant „pair of
bodies“ deposited in Westminster Abbey intended for
the effigy
of English Queen Elizabeth I st (ca 1603).
The pattern was published by J.Arnold in Costume (vol. 41,
2007). The corset reconstruction is bordered by a leather same
as the original. The fastening eyes are reinforced by metal
eylets. A white string is made by lucet technique.
