Regency boy’s skeleton suit

  The outfit consists of a skeleton suit (a bodice and trousers buttoned together) made of a cotton twill damask, a cotton shirt with a cotton muslin pleated frill, a cotton waistcoat trimmed with a twisted cord and two decorative thread buttons, a felted shako hat with feathers and leather shoes. All is handsewn and made according to the fashion plate No 20, Costumes de Paris, Costumes d'enfans, 1810 (Bibliothèque nationale de France) as a project for Mme Chantberry Fashion Plays 2016.
