Stays are made of cotton twill, silk thread and plastic and metal boning. On the stays there is worn a regency cotton petticoat with shoulder straps, the trimming on the hem (tucks and embroidery) was inspired by the petticoat, c. 1820, The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
