Striped regency dress
A regency
cotton dress with interwoven stripes was made according to the
cotton day dress, 1800-1810 (Augusta Auctions). The dress is
tied at the back with ties and is trimmed with cotton muslin
frills. The outfit is completed with a velvet belt with an
enameled buckle and an artificial pearl jewelry set for an
evening attire and a muslin chemisette, a fur tippet and a
felted "English style" hat trimmed with a vintage osseous brooch
and ostrich feathers inspired with a fashion plate from Lady’s
Magazine, London Walking Dress, March 1805 for a morning
version. |
