Regency pelisse
The
mid-calf length pelisse (a type of women´s regency coat) was
inspired by period fashion plates, esp. the fashion plate from
Lady´s Museum, February 1801. The pelisse is made of thin wool
lined with linen, the decorative trimmings are velvet as at the
fashion plate from Costume Parisien, 1798. The pelisse is
fastened with hooks and sewn eyes and in the high waist is tied
with a twisted cord with tassels. The accessory is a fur tippet
of silver fox fur, such tippets is possible to see at many
period fashion plates from the end of 18th century and around
1800. |
