Early Empire Round Robe
The round
gown is made of cotton muslin with printed floral pattern and
can be worn separately. The round gown was made according to the
adapted pattern of an open gown dated to 1797, located in Museum
of Costume in Bath (N. Waugh: The cut of women´s clothes,
1600-1930). The gown has an inner bib pinned with pins and
separate front parts of the gown are gathered and crossed at the
front (next photo). The outfit is completed with the silk sash
and the pair of gloves. The headdress consists of the white
muslin cap and the straw hat trimmed with ribbons bound under
the chin and pink ostrich feathers. |
