Rococo dress with the pierrot jacket
The
dress was made according to 2 drawings from French fashion
plates from c. 1787-1789. and consists of a jacket and a skirt. The jacket and skirt are made
of red satin with yellow red stripes and decorated with lace of
embroidered tulle. At the ends of sleeves there are tacked
separate flounces of embroidered tulle lace. The jacket is made
according to the adapted pattern of pierrot jacket from the end of 80th of
18th century located in London Museum (Waugh: The cut of women´s clothes). The jacket has hidden lacing in the front,
over which is the front part of the jacket pinned and yellow
stripes are buttoned up. |
