Woman’s outfit with the woolen surcotte
The
outfit was made according to illuminations in Codex Balduini
Trevirensis, 1320 – 1340. The outfit consists of the
woolen surcotte with tight pointed sleeves and the silk cotte,
under which is the shirt, drawers and stockings with garters
. The patterns of S. Thursfield (The medieval tailor’s assistant)
with modifications. The cotte is made of yellow silk shantung lined
with white linen with buttons from wooden beads covered with silk.
The surcotte is made of turquoise wool lined with pink linen. The
headdress is made of laying braids trimmed with brass pins with
coral heads. |
