Jane Seymour's Kirtle
There is
a kirtle under the dress made of a silver silk dupion, decorated
with white silk satin and lined with linen. The kirtle consists of
a bodice stiffened with sea-grass cords and decorated with a real
pearls and gilded filigree beads around the neck, and the trained
skirt. The bodice is laced on the sides with finger looped silk
braids with a hand made brass point. The skirt is more stiffened
in the front to hold better the shape. |
