Jane Seymour's Gable Hood

The dress is laced under the stomacher by a finger looped silk braid with a brass point and there is left a gap, which is typical for paintings of Jane Seymour. There is a gable hood on a head,  conservative headwear made of buckram and a wire covered by wool, the outer layer is made of white silk satin, black silk fabric and linen lining. Lappets are made of half-silk brocade completed with embroidery of white silk and golden thread to looks like the lappets at the portrait. The front part of the hood is decorated with a real pearls and gilded metal beads. There is a hairstyle made of crossed braids under the hood, these braids are covered with a separate stripe of striped silk.
