Robe a la polonaise - petticoats
The satin
petticoat is made according to the original from 1770 -1780
located in The Gallery of English Costume (see Arnold); it
consists of satin layer, damask lining and wadding and is quilted
with period method 18 – 20 stitches per inch (2, 54 cm). Petticoat
is opened at sides to allow an access to two pockets fastened
under petticoats (see the last picture). |
