Baroque Corset

  This pair of bodies is made according to the extant “Effigy corset” from Queen Elisabeth’s funeral effigy at Westminster Abbey dated back to circa 1603 (can be seen in section “Extant originals” on this webpage). This pair of bodies is made of four layers of fabric, two inner layers are made of canvas and two outer layers of damask. The pair of bodies is edged by white linen bias strips and boned by barked reed.
