Spanish Don
The
garment of a member of the middle rank Spanish nobility (ca
1580) consists of a linen shirt sewn according to the original
in the Museo del Prado, a doublet designed according to the
pattern of Juan de Alcega, breeches according to the pattern of
Diego de Freyle and a short cloak according to the Alcega’s
pattern. A hat is a reconstruction according to the preserved
piece stored in the Germanisches National Museum in Nuremberg.
Accessories are starched ruffs and stockings with garters.
