made according to the painting by Ambrosio Martínez, The
Beheading of Saint John the Baptist (1618, Toledo, Concepción
Francisca, altarpiece dedicated to St. John the Baptist). The
pattern construction follows Diego Freyle’s drawing (1580). The
lady is wearing a shirt, vasquińa, an outer vaquero with inner
red sleeves and outer blue sleeves, and a valona-type collar
around the neck.
