Johana of Pernstejn

   In the last third of the 16th century, white dresses with gold decor were also mentioned and depicted . The court lady of Empress Maria of Spain, Johana of Pernštejn, and her husband Fernando de Aragon y Gurrea, Duke of Villahermosa, were also depicted in white clothing.
  The garment is saya entera, ie outer garment with long-sleeves (mangas de punta) used for the most solemn purposes. The pattern is based on a pattern book by Juan de Alcega (1580). A portrait of Johana of Penštejn by Rolam de Mois, circa 1585, Lobkovický Palac, Prague Castle was used as an artwork.
