Common Spanish woman

at the turn of the 16th century consists of linen camisa, petticoat, hip pads, partlet, pocket, bodice (e.g. Magdalena Penitente, 1594-1595, Caravaggio), outer skirt and doublet. The false braid was called a baby. The color combination of the garment corresponds to the painting „Ladies in a Garden Embroidering“, Gervasius Fabricius, 1603/37.
