Freyle's jubon
The
basic Spanish, hand-sewn garment according to the pattern book
of Diego Freyle (1588) consists of a linen shirt, jubon and
broad breeches. The hat is according to the portrait of the
Spanish king Philip II (1573, Anguissola, Felipe II, Prado,
Madrid). Accessories are starch ruffs and stockings with
garters.
