Garment of Sibylle of Jülich-Cleves-Berg

 

  A garment inspired by a portrait of Sibylla of Julich-Cleves-Bergen (Monogramist AC, circa 1576, private collection, Christies sale, entry 6146784). The garment included a reinforced conical petticoat according to Spanish fashion, an elaborately decorated reinforced bodice with sleeves decorated with hand appliqué. The garment also includes ruffs, small beret and jewellery.
